bespoke compositions

A service is available for specially commissioned compositions for weddings, special events and performance by NI harpist Les Magee. Works are composed for harp and also orchestra. The following includes a list of recent works. See video links below...

Songs for the lost

Songs for the Lost is a choral work written by Les Magee during the covid19 pandemic. The pieces were written in response to the loss of life through the province of N.I., Ireland, UK and throughout the world. They are a memorial to those who were lost but also they will hopefully provide solace and healing to those who are walking through a more difficult grieving process due to distancing measures.

The chamber choir of local professional singers is under the direction of Jonathan Rea. The project has been kindly supported by The Arts Council for Northern Ireland.

The concert concludes with the faces of some of the lost.

This concert goes out in aid of CRUSE NI and donations can be given through the following link:

midnight on gartan lake

I have performed many times at St Colmcille’s Church, which sits on the shores of Gartan Lake. This beautiful scenery was the inspiration for this atmospheric composition for solo harp and has been requested by several brides as part of their wedding music.
